1996-2000
The
Chorus continued to strive for musical excellence and worked hard to create
a supportive and welcoming environment for all its musicians, support team
and singers to create enjoyable and rewarding learning and performance
experiences.
The MGLC sang both accompanied and ‘a cappella’ and numbered around
sixty voices across the four vocal sections of Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass.
For extra effect, percussion instruments and subtle choreography were sometimes
used.
MGLC
also performed with orchestral ensembles, concert bands and guest artists
from musical theatre and mainstream entertainment in concert and cabaret.
During this period, still under the leadership of Tuck Leong, the MGLC released
two CDs and undertook an international tour to Frankfurt, Freiberg, Vienna
and then Amsterdam (as one of 30 choirs from around the world for the1998
Gay Games) and enjoyed joint concerts with our brother-sister choirs from
Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Wollongong.
